Repairs and plinths

As I enjoy painting my gaming minis to a certain standard. Being until I'm sick of the damn thing. I have to hold back tears when careless players damage them. These four "partners" in destruction have all suffered damage. The picture itself is hilarious to me, the drow is the most trustworthy of the party, although she accidently killed the male sword wielder on the far left, trying to help him. The red headed woman with the bow pointed at her head totally deserves to be shot. She's trying to dob the drow into a church that would kill her on sight. The male sword wielder usually aims for limbs and heads and is standing next to the missing limb woman.

I didn't set the picture up to reflect the crazed dynamics of the dysfunctional group, it just happened. It's all the areas that have been damaged over the months.

The duel dagger woman in the cloak the worst damage, one of the daggers is gone. I did look, I swept the whole lounge room twice over, pulled apart the couch... Nothing.

But thanks to a unwilling donor mini, a free mini sent with my last order of Darksword Miniatures. Really the only choice, the hands are too big on everything else. I was able to at least get started on the repairs.

And I made sure to pin this hand, not an easy job. I have a drill bit sized hole in my thumb to prove it.

Next up is my plinths for the basing challenge. After the Ozpainters facebook discussion on the types of plinths I've set out to make a perfectly straight and correct tight plinth. Experimenting with round and square. Still needed to fix the overhang on the left side of the square one.

Yes I intend to make it completely contained and tight. I even got out the set square for this. My bookkeeping studies are mutating me into a more precise and organised person... Yes, I will accept anal retentive as a noun to use for me here.

Perfect... Well soon enough. Obviously I have to wait for the glue to dry then trim it all up, then undercoat and yes the list goes on.

I wanted to do boulders, I had an unplanned trip up to Lithgow and decided that Australian landscapes aren't very well represented in miniatures.
